Trauma-informed coaching for young adults on every step of their journey

“ Empowering your journey to recovery, healing and transformation ”

I am a qualified nurse and midwife with over 35 years’ experience being with people during some of the most vulnerable, stressful and challenging times of life.

It takes tremendous strength to face the aftermath of trauma, especially as a young adult. The impact of such experiences can be profound, and it’s entirely okay to feel a wide range of emotions – confusion, anger, sadness, fear and even moments of hopelessness. Your feelings are valid, and you don’t have to go through this alone.

If you feel that this is the time to work on what is stopping you from living the life you’ve always dreamt of, then we can work together using my experience with Trauma-informed coaching principals.

By working with me you will experience:

Safety and Trust

These are fundamental ingredients of our session time as we work together.

Empowerment and Collaboration

I work collaboratively with you, respecting your choices and empowering you to make decisions about your life. The coaching process is centered around you, and you’re encouraged to take an active role in defining your intention for change.

Understanding Trauma Responses

As a coach with trauma-informed training I am familiar with common trauma responses, such as hypervigilance, emotional dysregulation, and avoidance. I recognize that certain coaching approaches or questions might inadvertently trigger distressing reactions in you and therefore I compassionately consider my questions and approach.

Coping Strategies and Emotional Regulation

As a Trauma-informed coach I incorporate healthy coping strategies and emotional regulation techniques to help you manage your stress, anxiety, and triggers related to trauma.

Strengths-Based Approach

I take the opportunity to emphasize your strengths and resilience rather than focusing solely on problems or challenges. Celebrating progress and achievements, no matter how small, can be empowering for trauma survivors.

Self-Care and Boundaries

I value your autonomy and boundaries and I’ll encourage you to practice self-care and establish healthy boundaries which can be particularly important for trauma survivors.

Referrals and Collaboration

As a certified ICF coach, I understand my scope of practice and the importance of referring to mental health professionals. If this is necessary, I will collaborate with therapists or counselors to provide comprehensive support to you if you desire this for yourself.

Recovery and healing can be a gradual process and we can take small steps at your pace. I can provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you to express yourself and work through your feelings, experiences and stress. Together we can find ways to reclaim your strength and resilience so that trauma doesn’t define your future. You have the inner resources to rebuild and redefine your future on your terms and I am here with you on your journey of self-discovery.
